Andrew B. (Drew) Wilson possesses over 30 years in the rail transportation sector, specializing in rail facility operations, intermodal shipping, railcar marketing, and rail and intermodal fleet management. Mr. Wilson has been nominated for multiple marketing awards from the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association, as well as from Norfolk Southern Railway and BNSF Railway.
In his role of Intermodal Terminal Coordinator for Canadian National Railway, Mr. Wilson oversaw the operational transition and integration of the railroad’s Chicago (Harvey) terminal, subsequent to the Canadian National/Illinois Central merger. During this period, this terminal grew to over 500,000 annual lifts, ranking second largest on the system. This oversight includes daily operational elements, inventory management, including a role in implementation of the Oasis computer system overlay, as well as optimization efforts to improve terminal productivity.
Mr. Wilson’s rail operations pedigree includes leadership positions with multiple short line railroads and holding companies. These rail operations include operating leases in conjunction with various public and private entities from the state down to the local level. Efforts include securement of over $50 million in economic development opportunities, including green field new build facilities, repurposing of existing facilities to include a rail option, as well as plant expansion to accommodate new product lines, legacies that will provide economic benefit to those regions for years to come.
Rail and intermodal fleet experience are part of Mr. Wilson’s background, principally in the management of the 105,000 unit container and chassis portfolio belonging to General Electric, the largest domestic intermodal fleet under a single management umbrella in the industry at that time. This responsibility includes all elements of cradle-to-grave fleet operation, from customer lease inception, tracking, maintenance, as well as off-lease and disposition. Rail fleet experience comes in the form of customer fleet management, including sourcing, daily operations and maintenance schedules for both public and private fleets.
Mr. Wilson’s extensive rail marketing experience spans across several commodities including various agricultural products, intermodal/consumer goods, chemicals, steel, lumber, paper, as well as extensive experience with containerized municipal waste and organics. In his current role, he acts as sole proprietor of ABDW Logistics, LLC, a firm which specializes in transload facility establishment, marketing and operation.
Mr. Wilson resides in Bettendorf, IA with his wife and two high school age children.
